With such bands as Y-Friday, Sonic Flood Tree and now Among Thorns, worshipping God has become much more relevant to the younger generation of believers. If your particular tastes lie in the more rock-orientated styles of music, then Among Thorns could prove to be appealing both sonically and lyrically, where passionate songs of worship and praise are set to some fine acoustic based AOR. Not only polished musically, "Among Thorns" is also well-produced by Jay Hall; resulting in a truly unique worship experience. Featuring a solid musical based platform made up of Matt Gilder (keyboards), Brandon Eller (drums/percussion), Darin Sasser (guitar), Gary Ishee (guitar), David Childress (bass) and vocalist Jason Harrison, Among Thorns have come up with a solid debut. However, as we're all aware, the CCM industry in the States has recently discovered youth culture Praise and Worship as a potentially big money maker. That commercialisation is going to cause considerable tensions. We need to pray for bands like Among Thorns.
