This rock band from the Netherlands will be new to many of us on these shores and a name we are unfamiliar with. For those of you who are thinking their name rings a little bell, that was probably because one of their songs featured on the Cross Rhythms experience CD in the April/May edition. I was a bit apprehensive about this album at first and I very much wanted to be convinced by it which I have to say I was after listening to it properly. Their sound is very much American-style rock and the album starts with a couple of distorted, electric numbers which very much sets the tone for the album. However I do like the subtle addition of acoustic guitars, even on some of the thrashing numbers providing a very full sound. The song "Why" is one which immediately stands out with its bizarre vocal introduction (have to buy it to understand!) and a fairly catchy chorus. Surprisingly an acoustic track appears towards the beginning of the album which appears a bit out of place but could be said to be a nice change of mood. The project is self produced and they have done a great job of creating a full and mature sound. The addition of strings in some tracks and beautifully layered male harmonies works well. At times it appears to be more of a contemporary worship album as these guys are certainly not subtle with their lyrics. The backbone to the lyrics seems to be their passion to share of the love of their Saviour and how you can't live without it.
