Instrumental country, imaginatively and professionally performed. Recorded in Nashville (of course), there is an interesting mixture of hymns and choruses, some perhaps not so well-known in this country. They range from real rip-roaring blue grass, when you'll hardly be able to restrain the yee-ha's, to sensitive arrangements like "Amazing Grace" with a delicious slide guitar. I really prefer the toe-tapping ones with their hot fiddling but they are all impeccably played, even if many of the tunes do bear an uncanny resemblance to "Red River Valley". You might find the style monotonous if you're not a 100 per cent skilled licker. But if this is your can o' beans, go for it pardner!
