If you are tired of sugary synthesized live worship albums from exotic faraway places you will find the perfect antidote in this gem of a recording from sunny Camber Sands. Quite simply, it is worship with guts. The swooping vocals of Caroline Bonnett, the expressive tones of Sue Rinaldi and several other singers mix well with some cool saxophone and energetic percussion. True, the guys here - Noel Richards and Martin Smith - are no great singers compared to the ladies. But their writing of some truly memorable tunes makes up for that. The album rocks along with tracks like "Thunder In The Skies" and "We Want To See Jesus Lifted High". But there are also reflective moments including "Lord You Have My Heart" and the best version I have ever heard of the Taize classic "O Lord, Hear My Prayer". As with most worship albums there is a lack of originality in some of the lyrics. "Behold The Lord" will certainly bring to mind certain other worship songs. Yet because it has been so well crafted there are songs here that will earn their places into the repertoire of many a church worship group. Remember, there is no need to go to California when great things are happening on Camber Sands.
