Buddy, of course, has several claims to fame - one being the co-writer of one of the most successful Christmas songs of recent decades, "Mary, Did You Know"; another being one of Nashville's most popular harmonica session players and a third being a regular artist on Bill & Gloria Gaither's Homecoming Friends series. If that wasn't enough, this compilation also demonstrates Buddy possesses a very tuneful singing voice and is a decent guitar player. The 18 tracks on this good value CD are a real showcase of his outstanding talents from various Gaither Gospel albums in which he appeared. Songs featured here range from the familiar "Walkin' In Jerusalem" (beloved by many quartets) to the lovely hymn "Come, Thou Fount Of Every Blessing". There are some very moving pieces here including "Sojourner's Song", the humourous Washington Phillips evergreen "Denomination Blues" and a reprise of Greene's Christmas classic "Mary, Did You Know?". The only track I didn't care for was a too slow rendition of the Stephen Foster classic "Hard Times Come Again No More. However this is only a small niggle on what is otherwise a wonderful souvenir for those fortunate to hear Buddy in concert.
