As the title suggests this is an album of live worship from Calvary Temple, Indianapolis. The singing is packed with energy and really captures the atmosphere of a live worship meeting, as the congregation can be heard very clearly. The pace of the album leaves you panting and doesn’t slow down until the fourth track. This is not an album to put on if you’re having trouble sleeping! There are a wide variety of styles on offer here, from the Bobby Brown-esque “Raise The Praise”, through the Whitney-like “Come Fill This Place” to the deep blues of “When Jesus Lifts The Load”. The musicianship is first class although no credits other than singers is given – not that that matters greatly. Writers seem to be members of the church, with one song co-written with Carman no less. Praise albums can very often seem very “samey” thanks to the incessant conveyor belt mentality of some of the worship companies, but this is a very fresh album which is a joy to listen to.
