Six rocky songs written for worship by Phil Allen, regular worship leader at Bromley's rather wonderful Cornerstone Fellowship and singer/guitarist with The Great Escape. It's been home produced by Phil and the other members of Cornerstone's worship band and does have the feel of a demo rather than a full-on release. Apparently part 2 is coming soon and will sound better! Perhaps the recording limitations helped sway my preference to the up-tempo tracks of side 1, but there's enough here overall to display Phil as a writer of some talent. Best tracks are the opener "I Will Bless The Lord At All Times", which deserves to be sung by a wider audience, and the gloriously titled "Of Him And Through Him And To Him" (wish I'd written that) which seriously rocks. I have the feeling that there's a lot more good stuff to come from the Cornerstone crew.

Great review Karl ! I'm an ex-member of Phil's band, and
always thought Phil was a good songwriter and good all round
musician, who I still respect. He should get his 2 albums
out, remastered on CD.
