California-born gospel singer Danetra Moore released her first studio album 'Light In The Dark' in September 2015. The 12-song collection reached number 22 in the Billboard Top Gospel Album Charts. The first track "If God Be For You" opens with electric drums and hand claps before the singer joins in along with guitars, synth and horns. The title song features backing vocals, drums and guitar and, like many of the tracks, is very soulful. The lyrics talk about how God is our hope as Moore sings: "You are everything I need". "Only God Can" features a piano lead instrumentation and showcases the impressive vocal range of the singer. A more upbeat song is "I'm Gonna Make It" with electric guitar as the lead instrument accompanied by synth and percussion. Although there are some influences of R&B, dance, pop and even rock on this album, the overall sound is classic gospel with choir backing vocals. Competent enough without being in any way groundbreaking.
