Elizabeth Woollett is a professional operatic soprano based in Nia country, namely Carmarthenshire in West Wales. In her career to date she's performed at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, spent three years as a principal house soprano at English National Opera and toured extensively in Europe and the Far East and most recently in the USA and Canada. Elizabeth's husband, Welsh tenor Huw Priday, has similarly impressive credentials on his CV (see my review of his recent CO of hymns "Then Sings My Soul" in CR55). This EP is a taster for a full album due to be released soon and was recorded at the Angel Studios, Islington, North London with the assistance of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Three of the five pieces are from light operettas by Ivor Novello (also Welsh!), Vivian Ellis and Franz Lehar; the other two are A H Malotte's well known setting of the "Lord's Prayer", and Adolphe Adam's Christmas piece "0 Holy Night". Definitely a case for demanding more and I can't wait for the full album!
