A brand new recording featuring the current quartet line up of Signature Sound is full of bouncing energy. All four singers have fine voices in their own rights and this DVD, filmed against the beautiful California coastline, brings a new dimension to the uplifting "Three Men On A Mountain", "Give Me Jesus" and "Sailing With Jesus". Ernie introduces us to each member of Signature Sound, who give us potted biographies and how they came to join the group. Ernie's song "Happy People" focuses on the fact that Christians should always live a victorious life even in the midst of trouble. The group leader then relates that he has been challenged about that sentiment often and so wrote the following song "My Hallelujah" as a sequel. I suspect many UK viewers, me included, could have done without the intensely patriotic "America Medley" but as some of the audience included American service personnel, such an inclusion is understandable. The DVD closes very powerfully with "Great Is Thy Faithfulness", "Walking Through Fire" and a song that has been popular on the Southern gospel scene for ages, the catchy "Heaven Is". Backed only by a pianist and a bass guitarist, Signature Sound prove you don't need a big orchestra to deliver an uplifting and happy experience.
