Glorious Bride certainly have a heart to minister! Despite a name which conjures up images of hairy Scandinavian metalheads, what we actually get here is nicely atmospheric alternative rock with a neat twist, strong vocals from Jonathan Miles, all wrapped up in the kind of vibe which is so popular at the moment. Song titles such as "Naked I Will Leave" and "Prodigal" give a clue to the honest nature of the lyrics, and it is easy to believe that Glorious Bride had their roots as a worship band. This is one of those albums which sits in that annoyingly middling bracket. Certainly not poor by any means, but lacking in anything to lift it out of obscurity. This being said, it is a solid enough alt rock album and the songs will almost certainly spark more in a live setting and have strong ministry potential. If you're anywhere near their Auburn, Alabama base, I'd suggest checking these guys out, and watch for a more hooky release in the future.
