Bearing in mind how much of rap usually deals with hedonism and regales in social ills, rather than highlighting or offering any solutions, albums like this that fuse hip-hop to R&B singing and in-your-face gospel lyrics will no doubt shock the more religious brethren. But it's a nice enough R&B/rap album, which even has some secular crossover potential, even if the tracks like the funky "Get Right" condemns the Devil. Elsewhere, its street credentials are maintained by retouching on the subject of drugs and HIV. However, the rapid-rapping a la Bones Thug-N-Harmony on "Better Love" seems rather faddish and ill advised. The singing and rap fusion "What's Going On" is a definite standout, which should prick ears no matter the listener's religious persuasion.
