There have been many CCM acts called Grace over the years but this particular version hail from Dallas and are a gospel group who, as if to add to the confusion and near impossibility to find them on the internet, have also called their latest album by the same name. Aside from those factors making it difficult for them to have a unique presence, this is a competent offering that is very much in the mould of much of today's gospel fare which unfortunately further adds to their indistinguishability. That being said, the group do try to shake things up with the delightfully funky gospel of "In The House" sitting comfortably next to more soulful numbers such as "Jesus Did It" - both of which showcase the vocal talents and fervour of all involved. Elsewhere, thornier issues are not shirked with the likes of "Fight Club" tackling the subject of spiritual warfare to a pseudo rock setting whilst the stripped back and truly affecting "This Time" bravely shows vulnerability in the context of God's faithfulness. The slow gospel workout "Total Praise" closes an enjoyable enough release from an undoubtedly talented bunch who risk fading into Christian music oblivion unless they change their name and offer up something a bit more original.
