Staying true to what Norwegians have done to put themselves on the musical map, Christian hard music band Grave Declaration have released this set through America's Bombworks and deliver a hard hitting black metal album to rival their predecessors such as Dimmu Borgir and Nightwish. The band are fronted by Thor Georg Buer (previously of Antestor) and the interplay between drums and keys is strong. Lyrical content is bold and uncompromising in a scene that is infamously hostile to anyone that carries a Christian message. Drumming is tight throughout providing an underpinning that thick guitar sounds build upon while vocals are frighteningly convincing when communicating in English or Norwegian. The track "Hardest Rocking God Of All Time" personifies what the band is about on multiple levels while the opener "Change Of Heart" is a worshipful prayer. While Grave Declaration's music may be alien to those with less extreme tastes, it has grown from a desire to make worship music in the metal genre and offer something powerful that black metal devotees can connect with.
