Hannah Mayhew is a veteran of the prestigious St Edmund's Young People's Choir and is currently studying at Trinity College of Music in London, where she has been a member of their Chamber Choir. Here she is the solo or lead voice across a selection of mostly well known seasonal tunes, peppered with a few unexpected inclusions ("Lullay My Liking" and "O Little One Sweet" were both new to me). The single contemporary choice is Andrew Gant's "One Little Angel". Alto Lucy Ballard, tenor Tom Raskin and bass Eamon Dougan sing with Mayhew on almost all the tracks, and the vocal arrangements are precise and impressive. Generally, the accompanying music is simple but effective, featuring mostly keyboard and organ, but there are occasional flourishes of something else, the Celtic rhythms of "The Angel Gabriel" being one example. This is a pleasant, if unremarkable, showcase for Mayhew's notable, clear young voice.
