On the plus side, this project features a vocal ensemble who sound more like a school choir and less like a gathering of arbitrarily selected children which seem to feature on some of the other Happy Mouse albums. Also, the song selection steers clear of those ghastly Santa ditties and odes about chestnuts roasting on an open fire. On the minus side, there is little or no creativity in either the vocal/instrumental arrangements here or in the song selection ("Joy To The World", "We Three Kings", "O Come All Ye Faithful", "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" etc etc). Organisers of nativity plays might find the backing tracks included on this release useful, but in truth this is pretty bog-standard Yuletide fair.
