Since forming in 2000, Harmony have established themselves as part of the rich tradition of powerful melodic metal bands coming out of Sweden. With three studio albums under their belts, 'Remembrance' is a six track EP. As with their third studio album, this EP features Daniel Heiman of Lost Horizon fame on lead vocals. The first four tracks are re-recorded songs from their debut 'Dreaming Awake' album with the final two tracks featuring new material. The re-recorded tracks stay true to the originals but tweaks to the arrangements add an extra depth and power to the sound matched by the impressive vocals of Heiman. The dynamic range is dramatic throughout from the acoustic lead on the ballad "Without You" to a more conventional heavy riffing metal sound. Even on the heavier tracks such as opener "Eternity" there are melodic string interludes giving the listener a chance to catch their breath before the next guitar onslaught. The technical guitar and drum beats are evident throughout ranging from melodic to breakneck speed solos. The extensive use of strings and synthesizers creates a symphonic largely keeping a good balance with the rest of the instrumentation. "She" is probably the weak point on the record with the synthesizer coming to the fore creating a bit of a clash with the guitars. A powerful record that keeps you interested throughout.
