Originally the idea of now Furious? records boss Jonathan Brown, Authentic Music's 'Heart Of Worship' series has done exceptionally well over six volumes and various 'urban' incarnations, so this four CD, 60 song box set should do likewise. The Heart Of Worship series took the tried-and-tested idea of using session musicians rather than having to clear ripping tracks from other albums, meaning they could record all of the popular worship songs together on one compilation. This makes it an excellent resource for Church worship, worship teams learning new songs or just for use in the home. All the big songs are here sourced from Hillsong, Vineyard, Delirious?, Tomlin, Redman, Hughes and the versions are pretty good, if not up to the standard of the original recordings. But at the end of the day they work as a tool for worship and not as a showcase of musical excellence. This attractively priced worship box set could well be for you.
