The sticker on the front of the box proclaiming "12 beautiful instrumental interpretations arranged and performed by various musicians" clearly indicates that Kingsway's highly dubious policy of releasing endless compilations of old tracks without crediting the artists involved led them into problems here. Many people (me included) originally assumed this was an instrumental album performed by Stuart Townend himself (remember Stuart did record an instrumental project 'Classical Praise Piano: Come Holy Spirit' back in 1995). But as it turns out this is a compilation pulling together Townend compositions covered on six albums, Instrumental Worship 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6, released between 2002 and 2004 and recorded by producers Chris Norton and Andrew Green with a bevy of British session musicians. The songs are fine, the playing by the sessioners - particularly Robin Thompson-Clarke's cello and Simeon Wood's flute soothingly meditative - but the packaging is disgraceful.
