Jesus And Me can possibly be likened to a Christian version of Playdays with self pronounced similarities to Australian children's song and dance groups such as Hi-5 who already adorn British television screens on a regular basis. The structure is familiar. Three presenters (Halina, Michelle and Dr Doolots) join a group of young children and have all kinds of adventures and fun, and sing plenty of songs. The main difference is that the songs are all designed to teach young children about God. The group have already had huge success in its native Australia and picked up the award for Best Children's Gospel Song. The songs and delivery are fun. The DVD holds the attention of young people well, and for parents and leaders alike the DVD also contains valuable resources including memory verses, activity ideas and colouring-in sheets, all relevant to the songs, if you can persuade the kids away from the screen long enough that is. A great resource for young children, requiring a bit more endurance for the older viewer at times.
