The problem with this type of gospel album is that after the likes of Kirk Franklin and Fred Hammond have recently pioneered a whole new genre of gospel music, this sounds a little old fashioned and tame. However, if you're a fan of gospel, there is still plenty to enjoy here. Like any gospel album worth its salt, this one has songs that encourage and inspire ("On The Other Side Of Through", "If I Hold My Peace", "Standing On The Promises") and songs that are simply faith building gospel stompers ("I'm Determined", "Your Deliverance Will Come", "Won't It Be Grand"). Assisted by Anthony Lockett, a former member of R&B pop band Cameo, the production here has a clear sound with the punchy contributions from The Deliverance Mass Choir bursting out. Joyful, lively and a rollicking contemporary gospel album, there's plenty of blessing in these grooves.
