Of all the albums I've reviewed to date, I can quickly and unreservedly declare that this is the best one so far: It's a bona fide 8 - 0 World Cup CD victory for Jason versus all the other artists - no offence guys. After taking some time off from the music scene after a spell with Sonicflood Jason has re-emerged without his band. This excellent debut solo album shows he is no worse off without them, as he says: "The musicians and producers that God brought to the table, against all odds, is mind-blowing." They have produced some great songs that grow better the more you listen especially "How Deep Is Your Love" with its "Hallelujah, you're my king" refrain - cool. Each track has been excellently mixed and the muscial ability is top notch. The main vocal content is obviously Jason, with backing vocalists and musicians, including Micah Wilshire and Chris Rodriguez. This is an album to listen to anywhere. It's like a refreshing bath with loads of herbs and sweet smelly things. It's a packed album: tonnes of instruments and varied sounds from strings and piano (I thought I was watching Titanic or Lion King) to esoteric vocals on a drum machine back-drop. Apparently Jason has a loyal fan base in the US, this album shows us why.
