Recorded live with The Brothers And Sisters Of Charity at the Little Portion Hermitage in Eureka Springs, Arizona this is a delight to the ear and the spirit and this album, together with volume two, have already blessed me both in my worship times and as the kind of 'sanctified muzak' which in truth is a key role for praise and worship tapes. In one of his spoken preambles John asserts that "God wants us to worship him, liturgical and spontaneous, sacramental and non-sacramental" and here our beloved Franciscan Friar demonstrates a beautiful gift in leading us into worship of the living God. Beautifully recorded with none of the cavernous sound quality so often associated with live praise and it's a delight to hear John's warm, resonant voice presented gliding over his fluid acoustic guitar without a symphony orchestra filling it out. Songs range from Talbot's beautiful settings of Psalms through to favourites like Jamie Owens Collins' "The Battle Belongs To The Lord".
