Michigan-based gospel worship man Ken once again gathers a selection of master musicians and singers around him for a night of live worship and showcases a selection of new songs along with a couple of praise song medleys. Once again it's very much a team worship ministry rather than a solo effort and as we've come to expect from Ken, the musicianship is 1st class. The band, brass section and the ensemble singers along with the combined choirs of RLC, Madison Square Church and New Hope Baptist Church produce a flawless sound, further enhanced on some songs by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. There is once again an infectious bounciness evident right from the outset of the funky "Glory" and I defy any listener not to end up tapping feet or bopping along to the declarations of God's greatness. Musically there is quite a mix of influences and styles throughout - gospel, funk, the very cool Latin "La Buena Vida" with its flamenco guitar and guest singer from El Salvador, and a considerable amount of more classic worship style songs such as "Fill This Place" and "Your Faithfulness" and the two praise medleys which could be readily translated into my church environment far more easily than some of the more adventurous songs. There is a bit too much lyrical repetition on a couple of songs but overall there is a real sense of being saturated in God and in scripture, and you get the impression that Ken is truly worshipping, not just leading worship. He closes the CD insert with the words "It is my prayer that everyone who listens to this music will be inspired and encouraged and hear the message behind Ephesians 4:3-6. To God Be The Glory!" and I suggest this prayer could well be answered through listening to this uplifting CD.
