Success has been a long time coming for the Florida-based singer. After turning down a major record deal offered her through her performances in the making-of-the-band reality TV show Popstars in 2001 Kerrie worked in obscurity until signed to provident Records in 2009. This, her debut album, has proven a Christian radio hit Stateside and with a BIG voice, reminding me of Lara Fabian, this hugely impressive set, produced by Dan Muckala (The Afters, Brandon Heath) and Chuck Butler, powerfully announces that US Christian radio has a new star. Kerrie's songs combine an honest and sensitive, yet strong message with a pure and sophisticated quality of music that is truly uplifting. Starting off with "No Matter What" as a clear statement of uncompromising trust and devotion to God in spite of all circumstances, every single title reflects the personal journey of Kerrie since she started singing in a church choir aged five. She started writing her first songs during high school and even performed at her own graduation. Kerrie's own life challenges as well as the long and sometimes difficult process of making her dream of becoming a professional singer come true have birthed this authentic and fantastic piece of work. "Keep Breathing" for me stands out (especially the string arrangement) while "Outcast" has such a modern and punchy mix it sounds like it comes straight from the mainstream charts.

Product Description
At first glance, Kerrie Roberts is the little girl with the big voice. But once that voice captures you, it’s clear there’s so much more going on here.
Dynamic and intimate, emotive and soulful, her self-titled debut reveals the heart of an other-centred artist. She’s a power vocalist whose own lyrics are defined by empathy.
These are the songs of a distinctly relational and prolific writer. “My father is a pastor, so my whole family has been shaped by the church,” says Kerrie. “From a young age, my family always taught me to reach out to the broken and those who need to hear a message of hope.”
With her first performance coming at the age of five, Kerrie grew up singing in church, playing piano and writing her first songs in high school. The ten songs on Kerrie Roberts reflect the redemptive seeds planted throughout those years and into her young adulthood.
Thematically the album explores the motivating power of God’s love, the suffering experienced in an authentic life of faith, purpose amidst pain and the promise that a breakthrough is coming.
Says Kerrie, “I want every song to leave people with a sense of purpose - a call to action, a realisation of a truth, a promotion of hope and healing.”
