A live album recorded in the Temple Of Deliverance COGIC, Memphis, Tennessee, before a suitably enthusiastic congregation showing their appreciation to the group who’ve enjoyed huge album sales in recent years and shown that the old style quartet sound is still alive and kicking. There are echoes of the Golden Age of US gospel all through this, the lead vocals have a goodly dash of true grit and fire, with some rasping and hollering that the Blind Boys would be proud of; the band and backing singers give solid support and everyone in the house really gets stuck in. The only glitches for me are some sudden applause fade-outs at the end of some tracks, which spoils the live atmosphere; otherwise, production is good, the mix is right and it all adds up to a good quality gospel listening experience. Old time gospel buffs can buy with confidence.
