Despite the promise to bring us “new carols for a new generation,” despite being produced and programmed by Paul Field, a man who knows what makes a good CD, despite featuring guest vocalists like Phatfish’s Lou Fellingham and John Perry, this is an awful album. Corny, stereotyped and cheesily arranged new songs from the likes of Captain Alan Price, Paul Field and Garth Hewitt. Maybe it’s the children’s choir or maybe it’s a lack of A&R control to bounce back some of the most stereotyped compositions featured here, but, whatever the reason, this is stilted and lacklustre. Sorry guys, but this completely fails to adequately communicate the breathtaking tale of the incarnation to a new, or an old, generation.

Product Description
This new resource features newly written Christmas carols, specifically designed for all-age services. Christmas carols remain a hugely popular part of the celebration of Christmas, and this project offers fresh and modern alternatives perfect both to introduce in Christmas services and celebrations, and simply to enjoy.
As well as the songs, Let There Be Peace features the backing tracks and printable music scores, making this an exceptional and unique source of inspiration and ready to use music.
The carols on Let There Be Peace have been written by Paul Field, Captain Alan Price, Garth Hewitt, and Paul Crouch & Dave Mudie. Paul Field, who wrote the Millennium Prayer is recognised as a hugely talented writer of both adult and children’s songs. Garth Hewitt has written many Christmas songs and songs specifically designed for congregational singing in his 30 years of recording. Captain Alan Price and Paul Crouch & Dave Mudie are children’s writers with a track record of making enjoyable, ‘sing-along’ songs for children and families.

Every year our church (Salvation Army) are invited to sing
carols in our local supermarket. As well as singing the
traditional Christmas Carols, this year we added four of the
carols from the CD Peace. They are an excellent addition and
well liked by all our choir. The songs are easy to pick up
and the demo tracks help enormously. I find Tony Cummings
review using words like 'awful, corny, cheesy, lack lustre
sadly misleading. The songs we used are , 'All wrapped up',
'Christmas it's Christmas', 'Let there be Peace' and 'The
Christ in Christmastime', the latter clearly challenging the
hearers to look at their priorities regarding their
Christmas activities. Not having a band, we found the
backing Trax very helpful. Well done Paul Field and friends.
