It is an interesting concept to mix hymn tunes with classical pieces in counterpoint but I'm afraid that Linda has neither the style nor ability to bring the idea to fruition. The first track "Guide Me Oh Thou Great Jehovah" with "Eine Kliene Nachtmusic" (Mozart) robs Mozart's masterpiece of all its energy and grandeur and is played far too slowly with mechanical precision. In fact if you'd plugged Linda into a drum machine you would have been hard put to get a more clockwork rhythm. The dynamics are about as varied as the volume at a rave and show as much sensitivity to the content of the music. "When I Survey The Wondrous Cross" played alongside "Air On A G String" is enough to start anyone smoking If that isn't enough, there are one or two bad drop-ins on the recording.   So it's a thumbs down job. Oh and if you'd thought of listening to the Handel track on this CD, don't.   'Water Music' about sums it up

Ever since I was a little girl, I loved to listen to the music done by Linda McKechnie. It has inspired me to play music, make music and share my love for Jesus through playing her music. The way she has blended classical and Christian hymns has touched me and has melted my heart. I love her music very much and I am so blessed to have listened to it. It soothes the weary soul and it gives peace to the mind. If you feel like you're stressed out and all, listen to her music, the heavenly music will lift your soul!!!

Don't let Mr. Massey's critical remarks prevent you from purchasing this and other selections done by Linda McKechnie. I am not a musician and therefore not qualified to criticize the technique, but I do know that Mrs. McKechnie's renditions are comforting and often lift my spirit. I appreciate the fact that she is loyal to the traditional and does not attempt to destroy the beauty of the hymns by accommodating the frothy contemporary style of today. Don't analyze... just listen.
