A good, well produced and performed selection of new songs suitable for use with young children. The nine songs are lyrically strong and cover a wide range of catchy styles (I like the authentic-sounding “Whale Belly Blues”), and the majority are written by Martin Cooper (who also produced the tape) and Reuben Lyons. Backing tracks are also usefully included, on side two. Five of the songs concern the story of Jonah, which could have been used as a selling point, since together they constitute a good resource for anyone tackling this perennially favourite Bible story for children. A good buy for any children’s leader wanting to add a few songs to their repertoire.
