Hot on the heels of the similar fathers' tribute, we get the same thing for mums. I'm glad that Mother's Day in the UK has gone for another year, because that means that there is now no reason why you should buy this album. The sleevenotes give no information as to who the players are; they play well, the production is up to scratch, but it is sooooo bland. There are some good songs (Leslie aka Sam Phillips' "Not By Might (By My Spirit)", Twila Paris's "Love's Been Following You", and the Gary Chapman/Amy Grant/Michael W Smith hit "Arms Of Love") but all the passion has been surgically removed, so they might just as well be playing "Three Blind Mice". Ideal Christian bookshop muzak, not bad as a cure for insomnia, or even as something going on in the background ("ear candy", I believe is Mr Rimmer's phrase), but not a rewarding listen. If I gave this to my mum, she'd disinherit me!
