Another year and another March For Jesus album. This one is for America and to these English ears it sounds cheesier than a ton of Double Gloucester! Taking the tried, tested and now tiresome format, the proceedings are split between attempts at rousing "marching" tunes and cloying "prayer" songs. In truth, the majority of these songs are so old they're drawing state pensions and should be left in peace in that happy retirement home for happy songs. It's all well played, professionally produced and totally unexceptional! Come the Christian music revolution, those responsible for this conveyor belt praise muzak will be lined up against the wall and forced to listen to this pap until they cry for mercy. Their crime? Having no imagination! Why if we seek to worship a totally creative God do we have to do so with such lack of creativity? I suspect we'll be fed this stuff for as long as there are Christians who are bland and stupid enough to buy it! Isn't it time that those of us who love worshipping God but want quality music stamped our feet and demanded death to the identikit praise album? The revolution starts here!
