Hi I became a Christian at a Meet Jesus Music Concert at St Luke's Church in Maidstone, I didn't go forward at the end but 36 years later I still know that that was the moment of decision. So glad I did!

Yes, 'Meet Jesus Music' is inspired! Good News to those searching for it: You can get hold of the 'Meet Jesus Music' album along with loads of other great 60s & 70s Christian music by downloading it free from:
http://theancientstar-song.blogspot.com/2007/10/meet-jesus-m usic.html

It is a WinRAR file and you may have to download a little programme from the internet (search WinRAR in google) and it is converted to an MP3.

Enjoy

met this band in devon in the 70's, I'd just become a christian and was drifting! there is a track called ? "you say he's gone, this God of ours" this track has remained with me since then, even without tape or record!! I would love to hear some of thier music again!

I used to go to Kensington Temple and met Keith and Angie there. I always remember Keith as a lovely guy.
I think it was the pastors daughter Shioban, who sang in the group and she had a lovely voice. They released a beutiful song called "Just One Touch of His Hand". I would love to hear it again if anyone has a copy.

Following two years working for Christian Aid in Kenya, missionary friends took me to a "Start the Year wih Jesus" concert in the Royal Albet Hall in 1976. By far the best act was Meet Jesus Music and their albums have been my favourite Christian music records since then. I would also be more than happy to pay good money for CD versions of their two vinyl LPs. Why can't somebody re-issue them on CD - I am sure they would prove popular once again as there is nothing out there to match them for originality and musicianship. Philip Steel

I too would love to get hold of a copy of 'Meet Jesus Music' - my taped copy just got totally worn out with the amount of plays - Rob - any chance of a copy CD - I will happily pay fpr any costs incurred. I was also at a concert played by the band in London - in 1974 or early '75 - I think it might have been at the RAH ? at a Cliff Richard and Friends concert ?

hello Dave,

You ask for a copy of the MJM first album? I just recorded yesterday the original tape on my computer. (Just because i loved the music that much) The sound quality was also very good. Today I'am looking for the owner of the copyright. Wenn I'am finding out who owned the rights, I can ask for permission to give copies to my friends.

Maybe you can help me to get in touch with the owner of the rights? Then you can also get a copy.

Greetings,

Welmer

It really stands the test of time as a beautiful album and brings back many happy memories for me - and of that concert at the RAH in the 70s. The musicianship really is quite extraordinary and carries with it great warmth. has anyone ever heard of Reflection ? They did a great album called 'Sounds of Salvation' too, in the early 70s with some 'interesting' sound effects !!

I used to have both albums M.J.M. and gold, both were my first experience of good quality christian music, and I would love to get hold of any cd's if they are out there. Tony Taylor (the drummer) was, and i believe still is, the senior minister of Walton Baptist Church, he was also my inspiration to becoming a drummer.
