I must admit that I thought that this was going to be just another praise and worship album, on which chorus after chorus would be churned out with little atmosphere.  I was pleasantly mistaken, because from start to finish this finely produced live album was worthy of its 'worship' title. The Maranatha Singers led by black American worship singer/composer Morris Chapman, are not your average 'praise' backing singers, they came over as highly talented, accurate, even if basic, har-monisers. The album starts off at a pretty swift pace and gradually slows down, but never grinds to a halt. My favourites are "Blessed Be The Name Of The Lord" which is based on Proverbs 18:10.  Repetitive, sure, but still a great chorus. The harmonies on "All Heaven Declares" give the song a reverent feel.  It's encouraging to see choruses by British writers Chris Bowater and Graham Kendrick featured on a US praise album.  I recommend 'Live Worship', as a compilation of great choruses: some well known and others which are easy to learn. My only criticism is that on "Alleluia" Morris sounds as if his head's immersed in a bucket of water!

morris chapman is my spiritual and music mentor. I am a musician who God used morris to greatly tutor and inspire without ever seeing him in person but through listening to his songs. back then his cassettes never left my stereo, and peradventure it did, it would be in my Walkman. he was such an important icon in early years of becoming born again and leading songs in church. how I wish someday he would come to Nigeria.

I am very interested in knowing if Morris Chapman still tours the country. There are those of us who would literally walk miles to hear this great singer. Can anyone advise me on this? I have been unable to find anything on the web.

Its my greatest priviledge to have come across a gospel aritiste in the class of Morris Chapman. God used him and the likes of Terry Clark, Bob Fitts, Ron Kenoly and Don Moen to laid a solid foundation for my worship life and ministry. Im so thankful for their his life.

I would like to have the song that Morris Chapman and the Maranatha singers recorded back in the '90's. The name of it was: "With All of My Heart". I want it for a ringtone for my cell phone but I'm finding that it's much harder to locate than I ever dreamed. I've heard the newer versions but they don't stack up to the old one, that's why I'm looking for it. If you can help, I'd be very grateful.
