Not to be confused with the Mount Calvary Concert Choir from Youngstown, Ohio, who released some good choir albums in the early '90s for Word Records, under the direction of Bishop Norman L Wagner, The Mount Calvary Mass Choir hail from the Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Florida. This album was originally released in 1995 and if truth be told is pretty standard black choir stuff, not really in the same league as the highfliers of gospel choir music. There is a lack of atmosphere in the recordings and I doubt whether this album will be bought by many outside of Florida.
