New Hope Christian College is a renowned institution located in Eugene, Oregon. The students and staff have combined with a common voice and vision to produce music to inspire churches and faith communities around the world with new songs that magnify and bring honour to the name of Jesus. The sound has elements of Hillsong with a distinct American flavour with a smidgeon of electronic and dance sounds. Such an approach is heard most effectively on the upbeat opener "Shine" with the crystal clear vocals of Jacob Thiessen pushing home the message to let God's light shine through you. Next up is "We Belong To You", this time voiced by Stephanie Grecco still with a strong driving bass line counterpointing the keyboards. It's a song acknowledging we are bought and paid for by divine sacrifice. "I Will Sing To you" begins with simple guitar complementing Cory Emery's gritty vocal then strings come in to flush out the song. It could be likened to a modern day Psalm in construction. The whole effect puts one in mind of The Fray to no small extent. "Beautiful Mystery" showcases the singing of Natalie Pruett who has recently tied the knot with Jacob Thiessen. Her voice has a similar quality to Kari Jobe but with an extra edge of clarity. The song speaks of the wonder and awe of the Creator.
