“The Portraits Of Praise & Worship Live series from Spirit-Led Records has developed from a deep hunger for genuine music that accentuates the movement of local church services.” The albums are live recordings, each featuring a different worship choir. This recording from the New Song Christian Fellowship in Brentwood, Tennessee, consists of some well-known songs (e.g., by Scott Wesley Brown) and some by writers in that church. Most of the songs are devotional, focusing on the Christian’s intimate relationship with God. Particular emphasis is placed on the importance of surrendering one’s life to God. Musically, while not particularly different from anything you may have heard before, this has some very good arrangements by Dave Williamson, and the playing and singing is sensitive and solid, with an uplifting mood pervading the whole recording. If you like to listen to this sort of CD, you will thoroughly enjoy it and, hopefully, be blessed through it.
