Do you fancy a trip? Then climb on board! This latest offering from Word really takes off! The opener, "We Come Before Your Throne", does Concorde impressions - 0 to 1,000 in three seconds, soaring upwards, wheels off the ground! It's enthusiastic, happenin' and boy, do I wanna dance! The faster songs are better than the slower ones (which are a bit disappointing), although Pat does have a belter of a voice (reminds me of Lamelle Harris) and does the songs justice. The pacy "Convocation Medley" has over and undertones of Senor Andrae Crouch ("Give It All Back To Me"). The speed varies -one minute it's an aerobic workout that leaves me panting, the next, we're into the restful "Redemption Medley" that lets me sit down and take five! Phew! I'm up on my feet again for "This Little Light Of Mine". This is where I get to groove big time! It would be a great song to end the album with. It's a pity that The Powers That Be chose to land this plane with the subdued "There Is No Other Name" reprise instead. If you ignore the final track, the album does leave you waiting for more. Go for it!
