The series of worship albums recorded by American church grouping People Of Destiny have produced some fine worship moments as a result of excellent songwriting by Steve and Vikki Cook and Mark Altrogge. Completely underrated and largely unknown in this country, surely it won't be long before their talents are recognised if they keep on producing albums with songs of such high quality. Unlike the two previous releases that have relied on a more poppy production, this latest live album contains an intimate worship experience without falling into tweeness. The songs are well crafted musically and the lyrics allow the worshiper to touch God. A lovely moment is Mark Altrogge's "There Is One Thing" with its lovely chorus "You are beautiful" which faces into C J Mahaney's heartfelt prayer. Most of all Altrogge's "O Faithful God" with its declaration of trust in God always moves me whenever I hear it. A prime example of how a worship album can be made without descending into the schlock of such a lot of this genre. Creative songs passionately performed and a genuine experience of worship without a conveyor belt in sight.
