Potterzclay are an American eight piece who met doing an Alpha Course. This independent five track EP showcases their songwriting and playing talents. They have a refreshing take on worship music and are mercifully free of the overproduced feel that is all too common on many releases. They confess to have a folk leaning which shows itself in some wonderfully intricate melodies and beautiful vocal harmonies. The opening track, a prayer - "In Jesus Name, Amen", has a clear piano weaving around a solid Hammond organ highlighted with a soaring guitar solo. It is followed by a much emptier track, "Make Me Over", written in collaboration with a prisoner who was befriended during time ministering in the local jail. "Silent Partner" then explores how God is involved in our lives. The tempo is picked up in the rocky "My Time Is Your Time" which looks at how we spend our time. The disc then closes with "Nations", looking at how the nations of the world will bow at God's name.
