First there was Ty. Now comes Doug Pinnick (aka Pound Hound) with some massive grooves straight from the electric church of his creative imagination. 'Massive Grooves From The Electric Church' - the first of three solo projects for popular King's X front man Doug Pinnick, scheduled for release through Metal Blade records - aptly demonstrates his eloquence both musically and lyrically. Having not only written, recorded, mixed ,arranged and produced the album, Doug also played all the instruments himself' leaving skin duties to Chad Lyons, Shannon Larkin and fellow band mate Jerry Gaskill. Being the celebrated bassist that he is, Doug's debut disc does not disappoint. 'Massive Grooves.' is a broody, sometimes dark album, whose mood is reflected through some stunningly well-executed bass and guitar playing, coupled with Doug's uniquely soulful vocal delivery, the album has a compelling hard rock/folk metal vibe. 'Massive Grooves.' offers a profound outlook upon life going by, from the heart of one working through man's self-righteous piety and hypocritical nature, welcome to Doug's troubled world.. welcome to the Electric Church.
