The choristers tackle songs in which the timing, intervals and execution is not easy-peasy; I must say an admirable job has been accomplished by the boys, girls and lay vicars who make up the choir. 15 anthems to relax your weary frame to, the highlight being the 7:20mins long, "Seek Him That Maketh The Seven Stars". The repeated two-note motif of "Seek Him" creates excellent tension, resolving in a climatic three-note/four chord loop with big vocals. Recording in any cathedral can't be easy, but closer micing and a bigger signal would have benefited this recording, which has lost a small percentage of fidelity in the recording process. But no matter, this is something you leave on while you meander around the house or have playing throughout the night with the repeat button on.
