Including as this does a duet with black gospel/praise man Alvin Slaughter and a fiery rendition of Dylan's neo-gospel "Saved" you might imagine an African American sista. In fact Sandra is white (thanks to the sleeve's photography, luminously so) and many of her song stylings here, lushly produced by Wayne Haun, Ray Davis and Jason Webb, are on the lush end of MOR, more Vegas-style Streisand than storefront church. Sandra certainly has a powerful, at times almost overpowering, voice though her tendency to emotional theatrics is probably a tad too melodramatic for many British tastes (except those Brits who go gaga for Sandi Patty). This IS classy, inspirational music and I really enjoyed the chanting Yorba-dialect choir on the intro of "All Praise Rising" but I suspect this lady will need a stronger album to make her mark in America's so-crowded inspirational scene.

Sandra,
I just saw you on TBN where you sang 'Just Ask Jesus.' It was beautiful, and you are too. I am a 66 y.o. grandma who grew up with Elvis and R&R, therefore I loved the BEAT. Keep going. I am trying to find a website for your parents Family group, but have not found it yet. You keep singing, girl. You have the gift of music and faith. God bless you.
