Four CDs, colour-coded according to 'season', check; 41 tracks, check; all the favourite song composers, check; seems a bland but well-packaged mix - but hold! What base trickery is this? Do I not hear the familiar strains of Rob and Gilly, playing tracks plucked from an album 10 years old? Yes, I do. No artists are actually credited with the performances on this huge wodge of wallpaper-paste, but from the patchiness of styles, it doesn't take a genius to work out they were culled from old Kingsway instrumental albums. This is muzak, not music - tracks yanked from their original context and slapped together to ride a marketing trend. Quiet the spirit? Ruffle the feathers, more like. A must-miss.
