Silent Substitute are a family band of brothers and sisters from Minneapolis, Minnesota who offer a rock/punk based album with a host of assorted musical talents on display. The opener grabbed my attention with a strong guitar riff and tight drums and bass while the female lead vocalist was exceptional. I have heard some strong vocals in my time and can only compare this female vocalist to the great Amy Lee from Evanescence such is her vocal range and style. Elsewhere the songs are well constructed and parents can rest assured that this rock music is fully endorsed for all ages as the message is strong and unswerving for all Christian kids. To single out the best songs from the album is a difficult task as they all stand out in their own way but the beautiful "When You Come" which shares both male and female vocals and melodic music is a delight. There are several other strong songs with "Hopeless Case" and "Without You" standing out.
