Smithfield are a four piece guitar lead rock band from California who are playing the West Country's Creation Fest later this year. This five track EP is their first commercial release and is soon to be followed by a full album. Lyrically the songs centre on the fact that we have a future with Christ and nothing can separate us from that and do get the message over. While the lyrics are quite up beat and up lifting, the musical style is reminiscent of Metallica in their mellower moments - a little bit of a dirge. Having said that, it is very easy to listen to and the songs are well crafted and produced. Worth picking up if you see a copy but I’d wait for their debut album.
