The Kentucky-based Southeast Christian Church boasts a regular congregation of almost 20,000, a choir of 300 voices and a very capable band, who make their musical debut on this live worship recording. Technically this album is excellent, with a very clear sound and some excellent musicians. The lead vocalists are particularly talented and solo singers who are backed by the large choir handle much of the vocal work. In fact, the choir is used essentially as a large group of backing singers with scarcely a choral harmony to be found. The music offered here is contemporary worship penned by the likes of Chris Tomlin and Matt Redman. Particular highlights include the epic "Holy Is The Lord" which is well performed and emotionally stirring, and the slow but powerful "A Greater Song" which again features some impressive vocal talent. What lets this album down, however, is the air of cheesy-ness and cliché that plagues many of the songs. Despite the large and capable band, the arrangements are simple and uninspiring.
