On the first listen this three song demo from the Wellington based foursome shows a lot of room for improvement, the arrangements are fairly clumsy and tend to plod a bit. The mix is far from perfect too, I could swear the drummer is popping away at a pile of biscuit tins and cardboard boxes. Lead singer and dancer extraordinaire (according to the flyleaf!) Andy Levett tells me that the band are mostly into metal, which is quite different from the indie/grunge sound they have arrived at. To be fair though, I do think the band show good potential, the guitar/bass drone is quite effective, but could use more effects, if you see what I mean. The lyrics are far from banal, if a touch squashed on "Disguised" which sounds more like "Skyzed". The boys are shortly to produce a second tape which, I'm sure, will show a more mature sound.
