Product Description
The distinctive voice of Sylvia Burnside is perfect against the backdrop of the New Irish Choir & Orchestra in 13 inspiring songs to calm the soul.

Sylvia grew up near Glasgow, but now lives with her family in the County Antrim countryside in Northern Ireland. She is best known for her regular work as a soloist with the New Irish Choir and Orchestra, with whom she has featured on BBC Songs of Praise and in concert venues across Ireland. Educated at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the University of Ulster, she now spends a great deal of her time sharing her skills and musicianship having established a strong reputation as an excellent vocal teacher to several hundred pupils. Sylvia believes passionately in the power of songs to express profound emotion and heal wounds in both the singer and the listener. She loves to communicate the story of a song in a way which opens up a meaningful connection with her listeners. As a Christian, it is her privilege to pass on songs which have blessed and encouraged her in her own spiritual journey, with a prayerful desire that all who listen will know the God who reassures us that there is No Need To Fear.

New Irish Choir and Orchestra is a vibrant group of Christian musicians who aim to present Christianity through the Arts. Founded in 1994 by modern hymn writer Keith Getty, they are now directed by Jonathan Rea. The Choir & Orchestra appear frequently on BBC Songs of Praise and regularly broadcast services on BBC and RTE TV and radio. They have worked in partnership with Keith and Kristyn Getty, Rend Collective, Stuart Townend, Matt Redman, Michael Card, Sara Groves, Robin Mark, Joanne Hogg, Bluetree and many others. Their work includes sell-out concerts in the major Irish concert halls, worship leading at conferences, a 100 strong youth choir for teenagers and many events in partnership with organisations such as Tearfund, Open Doors and local churches.

Songs including 'Oceans', 'Forever' and 'His Eyes Is On The Sparrow' remind us of God's reassurance that there is 'No Need To Fear'.
