This could be either brave or dangerous, depending on your particular preference in matters of theological conservatism. Let's find the positives first. It's a British stab at producing something that fits into the dance/ambient crossover trend and it achieves this with a sound that's not only broad but fresh and bright as well. There's everything from high bpm thrashes to the extraordinary, languid groove of "Zoob". There's Hebrew speech and ethereal vocals. And there's an attempt to embrace the huge theme of Christ's creation and redemption of the cosmos. Unfortunately, it's here that we fall into the negatives. However well intentioned, the team have chosen Matthew Fox as their chosen speaker-sample, and few orthodox believers would sit happily through an entire seminar by him. Parts of it sound perilously close to pantheism to me (basically, the idea that everything is God). At one point, Mr Fox tells us about the living cosmos and concludes, "Is Christ still dying?" Well actually, no. "We have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ ONCE FOR ALL" (Hebrews 10:10). I'm aware that this review has said more about message than music, but I think the message is pretty important, don't you? Maybe a little more care for basic doctrinal orthodoxy would benefit us all. Be careful who you sample.
