A fine collection of traditional gospel songs and hymns from the unique voice of one of country music's all time greats. The superb, resonant baritone/bass that made such hits as "Sixteen Tons", "River Of No Return" and "Blackberry Boogie" is on top form here, drawing out the full beauty of material such as "He'll Understand And Say Well Done", "He Leadeth Me" and the ever lovely "An Evening Prayer". Ford made no secret of his strong Christian faith, in fact his later career was devoted almost exclusively to gospel albums. Simple songs, from much simpler days, capturing the essence of a more simple faith. Enjoyable and enriching.
